James Trainer

Striking and MMA Coach

James Trainer has over a decade of coaching experience under his belt. Coming from a traditional martial arts background before transitioning to MMA, he applies traditional martial arts values and teaching methodologies to modern combat sports. He has worked with a wide variety of practitioners, ranging from casual hobbyists to professional fighters.
James has competed successfully in various striking and grappling sports, as well as MMA. He has trained extensively in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, BJJ, Submission Wrestling, Sambo, Boxing, and Karate. Spending over seven months training in Thailand, where he focused on learning traditional Muay Thai from Thai instructors and worked with world-class kickboxing, boxing, and MMA coaches. James collaborates regularly with high-level specialist instructors across a variety of disciplines, ensuring he teaches his students the highest quality, up-to-date techniques. His diverse training and competition background enable him to provide his students with a large array of effective techniques from a range of disciplines. Outside of combat sports, James holds an Honors degree in psychology, which he uses extensively in his coaching practice. He places a high value on both the physical and mental development of his students.

Sina Farihizadeh

Head Jiu Jitsu INSTRUCTOR

 Sina has been training in martial arts for over 16 years, with 8 years of coaching experience.  Sina takes a modern systematic and structured approach to coaching, making it his mission to stay up to date with the latest trends in the grappling world. 
Sina started training grappling with Judo in 2008, switching to Jiu Jitsu two years later after realising how effective Jiu Jitsu is on the ground. As an active competitor, he has taken part in a multitude of grappling tournaments. Throughout his competitive experience, Sina is a gold and silver medallist in advanced divisions of grappling industries and Aus sub only and bronze medallist at Pan Pacific Championship championships. 
Sina is also silver medallist at NSW state wrestling championships in 2022.
Outside of grappling Sina is a software developer/ Data Engineer and is always looking for ideas and concepts that can be incorporated from other fields into grappling.

Leonid Zaslavsky

Olympic Level Freestyle Wrestling Instructor

Leonid (“Len”) is a former Australian wrestler, having competed at the highest level in the men’s freestyle 62 kg at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. After a short, professional career in Mixed Martial Arts, Len has dedicated his time to his passion for wrestling, being an active official of the sport, a member of the NSW board and continuing to coach and prime prospects for elite athletic competition. 

Margarita Lariego

Traditional Muay Thai instructor 
With 25 years of martial arts experience, Margarita is a seasoned Muay Thai coach who has honed her skills through extensive training in Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, and Kung Fu. She has taken multiple trips to the Philippines to learn Authentic Eskrima (Filipino stick fighting) . Additionally, she has spent an extensive amount of time training Muay Thai in Thailand, where she has competed professionally.
Outside of martial arts, she is a certified strength and conditioning coach and has competed in powerlifting. Margarita has also worked as a strength and conditioning coach for athletes from various sports, including MMA, Muay Thai, Karate, and BJJ, to name a few. Her wealth of experience is an invaluable asset in shaping dedicated fighters under her guidance.

David Nguyen

Taekwondo Instructor

David has spent over 15 years training in traditional martial arts, he holds an internationally recognised black belt in ITF style Taekwondo. David has also trained extensively in Wing Chun, Kali, Jiu- Jitsu and kickboxing. Davids approach to teaching is holistic, detail-oriented, and aims to show the full capabilities of the tool that is the human Body. David is an expert in mobility training focusing on building flexibility and dexterity in his students whilst helping them develop their kicking ability.
